Update Since 2015

When I started this blog in 2015, I embedded the episodes from TBN's website. A few years later, TBN redesigned their website and removed a lot of videos, including all episodes of "The Way of the Master". In 2019 Living Waters uploaded almost every WOTM Season 1-4 episode to their YouTube channel. Living Waters has seemingly removed Episode 20 from the series, which altered the episode numbering. They also retitled most of the episodes in "click-bait" style.

06 Idolatry – The Darling Sin of Humanity

1. Do you think every Christian has a moral responsibility to reach out to the lost, even those who don't feel they have a “gift” of evangelism? Discuss why or why not.
2. What is the First of the Ten Commandments? What does that mean to you personally as a Christian, in the area of sharing your faith?

4. Were you an idolater before you came to faith in Jesus? Briefly explain your personal form of idolatry before becoming a Christian.
5. Think of someone you care about who is an idolater. What is his god like?
6. Discuss why idolatry is perhaps the deadliest of all sins.
7. Why is idolatry (“to me God is like...”) unintelligent and foolish?
8. Why is “hell-fire preaching” unreasonable? How is biblical evangelism different from “hell-fire preaching”?
9. Explain why Felix “trembled” (Acts 24:25).
10. Is “fear” a legitimate motivator to cause a person to come to Christ—to flee from the wrath to come? (See Acts 17:30,31; 1 Thessalonians 1:10.) Discuss how fear can be positive.
11. Was “the fear of the Lord” a motivating factor in your own conversion?
